KRISTÍN (Christine) EIRÍKSDÓTTIR
( Einar Erickson's Sister )

Born 6 December 1842 at Laga-Kotey, Longholt, Vestur-Skaftafells Iceland. Her parents are Eirikur Runolfsson, born 1 June 1798; and Gudrun Jonsdottir, born 19 December 1801 at Botnar, Langholt, Vestur Skaftafells, Iceland. Kristin was married to Nikulus Tomasson or Nicolai Heinrich Thomsen, and they had one son, Johann. Kristin married Pall Arnason, born 22 February 1852 at Vilborgstadur, Vestmannaeyjar. He is the son of Arni Jonsson, born 31 January 1812 at Teigur i Fljotshlid, Rangarvalla, died 8 January 1855 in Vestmannaeyjar; and Bjorg Arnadottir, born 1 November 1830 in Rangarvalla, died 22 May 1915 in Vestmannaeyjar. They were married in September of 1877.

Pall and Kristin had two children born in Iceland, Einar and Arni, and a daughter, Palina, born in Spanish Fork. Two more daughters were born to them, Margret and Kristin, but both died when very young. Kristin joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was baptized 18 May 1881 by Elder Jon Eyvindsson. Kristin’s brother is Einar Eiriksson; he had been very active in the early Mormon Church in Iceland.

Kristin and her two sons, Einar and Arni, left Iceland with a small group of Icelanders to immigrate to Zion 30 May 1881. Pall followed her in 1882. Their first home in Spanish Fork was a dugout, with a pointed roof above the ground and two rooms beneath. Kristin worked hard after arriving in America, carding wool, weaving yarn, knitting stockings, making quilts and quilting them for others. She made braided rugs for forty years in Spanish Fork. Kristin died 10 October 1934 and is buried in the Spanish Fork City Cemetery. She was known as Christine Eirikson Runolfson.

 
PÁLL ÁRNASON

Born 22 February 1852 at Vilborgstadur, Vestmannaeyjar. He is the son of Arni Jonsson, born 31 January 1812 at Teigur i, Fljotshid, Rangarvalla, died 8 January 1855 in Vestmannaeyjar; and Bjorg Arnadottir, born 1 November 1830 in Rangarvalla, died 22 May 1915 in Vestmannaeyjar. Jon married Kristin Eiriksdottir, born 6 December 1842. Her parents are Eirikur Runolfsson, born 1 June 1798; and Gudrun Jonsdottir, born 19 December 1801 at Botnar, Langholt, Vestur Skaftafell. They were married in September of 1877. Pall and Kristin had two children born in Iceland, Einar and Arni, and a daughter, Palina, born in Spanish Fork. Two more daughters were born to them; Margret and Kristin, but both died when they were very young.

Pall joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was baptized 1 June 1881 by Elder Jon Eyvindsson. Kristin, his wife, had been baptized on 18 May 1881 by Elder Jon Eyvindsson. Kristin’s brother is Einar Eiriksson; he was very active in the early Mormon Church in Iceland.

Their first home in Spanish Fork was a dugout, with a pointed roof above the ground and two rooms beneath. They had no close neighbors. Throughout his life Pall worked at many trades – masonry, shoe repair, and even barbering. Pall and Kristin were dear to the Iceland community in Spanish Fork. Pall died 2 August 1936 and is buried in the Spanish Fork City Cemetery. He was known in Utah as Parley Arni Johnson.
