Vestmannaeyjar's Children is about the love and struggles of family, friends, country and religion. Mix in a bunch of courage, dreams, and faith and you have the story of two families who bonded with a life long friendship in Iceland.

Sveinn Thordarson and Einar Erickson struggled with the Danish repression of the Icelandic people and the devastating effects of the tremendous natural catastrophes of the previous several decades. They struggled mightily under the repression of the state controlled church and their desire to practice their own faith. All of this coupled with talk around Vestmannaeyjar of a better place in far away America, generated dreams of life in a better place.

With faith, hopes and courage these two families left their beloved homeland and sailed across the Atlantic to a better place. First settling in Spanish Fork, Utah and then later relocating to Cleveland, Utah. Vestmannaeyjar’s Children tells the story of the trials, accomplishments and love of God through their courageous life’s journey.
